KuzTunes pick 2: The Sound of Animals Fighting

This is a very strange but awesome band I stumbled upon. I have heard people talk about them before, but I hadn't really listened to them until recently.

This track is called "The Heraldic Break of the Manufacturer's Medallion," from the album "The Ocean and the Sun." Yea, a little wordsy, but its a good song.

They are a very unique mix of alt/grunge and a little but of metal in there, but not too much. Very prog heavy. Think Coheed meets the Mars Volta (early MV, right after At the Drive-in stopped) meets Placebo.

Definitely worth the 5 minute video.

Check em out, The Sound of Animals Fighting.

KuzTunes pick 1: Joe Bonamassa

Hey guys, so here I am for the first real post of the KuzTunes blog.

For this week, I'll start things off with an awesome blues/modern rock player, Joe Bonamassa. Joe has been on the blues scene since he was about 11 years old playing with country legend, Danny Gatton when he toured to his hometown in northern NY.

This is a song called "The Ballad of John Henry" off of his brand new for '09 album, "The Ballad of John Henry." I stumbled on this guy randomly from looking at youtube videos, and I found this one and loved it. The next day I went out and bought the whole album. I highly recommend checking out more of him.

He's got killer licks and an amazing voice. Extremely unique in the blues world.

I blog now?

Yup. I blog now. This is mostly for Jamie, Tom, Darsch and who ever else wants to keep up with my music picks of the week. Since we aren't up at school to "hang out" you can get your weekly fill of KuzTunes from here haha.

So, every Wednesday (I'll try to remember this) I'll post a new artist that I think you should check out along with a little bit of info about him/her/them. So, yea. My first post will be this coming wednesday. I already have a few people in mind to give to you, so you'll just have to be patient until then haha.
